Successful completion of a one-week online faculty development programme

SGRR School of Education signed a MoU with Ramanujan College University of Delhi
DEHRADUN: NAAC has come forward with revised Assessment and Accreditation methods and new set of quality Indicator Framework, so aligning with new frame work SGRR School of Education signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ramanujan College, University of Delhi.
This programme will provide a platform under its Teaching Learning Centre, MHRD, PMMMNMTT Scheme for imparting training to University teachers and Research scholars by conducting Online One Week Faculty Development Programme on “PSYCHOLOGICAL SKILLS IN TEACHING AND LEARNING” held on 24th to 30th December, 2023 with Teaching Learning Centre, MHRD, Ramanujan College, University of Delhi located at Kalkaji, New Delhi, in collaboration with School of Education Shri Guru Ram Rai University.
The aim of the agreement is to enhance the capacity building of faculty members/ research Scholars of Shri Guru Ram Rai University. Signing this MOU would benefit our University Faculty/Research Scholars as they would be trained through a Teaching Learning Centre under PMMMNMTT, by the Ministry of Education MHRD scheme.
These programmes are based on in-depth subject knowledge, quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, and on an interdisciplinary approach as is envisaged in the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020.
FDPs create the opportunity for sharing the ideas and knowledge and also helps improve lifelong learning skills by providing easy access to global resources. In other words, they have transformed the spaces of teaching and learning and associated psychological skills. With this programme, the participants will be able to explore the usage of online courses for learning, teaching, and professional development. In the current ever – evolving educational ecosystem, it has become significant to discover, create and adapt to creative and inclusive pedagogical methods.
This is specifically important to understand the way information is absorbed, retained and applied by 21st century life-long learners. Psychological studies have a lot to offer when it comes to improving teaching and learning in the classroom. It can provide insights in building effective instructional methods, student-friendly classroom environment and appropriate ways of evaluating and assessing students.
It is in this context; the Faculty Development Programme aims to initiate a discussion on the need to establish interlinkages between the conventional teaching and learning with the social and behavioural components of human development. The Programme has been designed to include the themes of cognition, motivation, social interaction, and communication to acquaint the participants with the relevant knowledge and skill set. Pupil-Teachers of School of Education, SGRRU, got an opportunity to participate in MOOCS and completed the course successfully.
